6m old feet keeping her awake

Recently my babies new thing for the past 4 nights has been to hold onto her feet constantly in bed. This isn’t happening much in the day and she discovered her feet a long time ago. I don’t know why she is suddenly doing this but when she goes to sleep after about 45mins she will grab them, whilst her eyes are still closed. Then that’s when she starts rolling from side to side and eventually spits her dummy out to cry. This isn’t just once in the night but probably happening every hour to 2 hours at the minute. I’m getting her back to sleep then she will do it again. If her feet are in a sleep sack she just grabs the sleep sack where her feet are instead.

She has never been the best sleeper after she hit the 4 month sleep regression. However this is a new thing and it’s waking her up constantly! She will not go back to sleep unless I hold her hands down or pat her back. This also sometimes can take up to half an hour.

I am going to start sleep training her soon, I haven’t had a chance to during the busy Christmas period but this has just thrown me as she has never done it before.

At a similar age my little one starting trying to hold hands only in the night which meant when actually asleep letting go then the reflex of losing hands waking baby up again. It is developmental and just a phase. Like everything else I just rode it out. No sleep training at all and at 18m now sleeps very well once I have nursed to sleep.
