Dd will not sleep unless she can use my nipple as a dummy - what can I do to prise her off me?

Clearly this is not convenient on a 24 hour basis as I'd like to get on and do things while she naps and my nipples are going to end up tough as old boots. But, she will not sleep for more than 3 minutes if my nipple is not available. She won't take a dummy and doesn't seem to be interested in her thumb and I'm not willing to leave her to cry. How can I break this habit. She's 15 wks btw.

The 'no-cry sleep solution' book suggests you remove your nipple when baby is almost asleep- if they cry, you replace it, wait til they are comfort sucking again and try again, and repeat til they are asleep. I used this method when weaning DS off his dummy as its the same sort of thing. I thought it would never work, but after a couple of weeks he would cry the first time i removed it, but not after that, and then i went cold turkey and stopped giving the dummy altogether, and giving extra strokes on his face , shushes etc. HTH.
