8mo waking out of habit - what worked for you?

My 8mo falls asleep in her cot happily. She naps well during the day - 2 naps totalling around 2.5-3.5 hours depending on the day.

She still wakes 2-3 times a night to feed, only she doesn’t actually feed much. She is weaning and eats so much during the day, she definitely doesn’t need the calories.

I’m struggling with the wakes now, to be honest. She’s by no means a bad sleeper but I’m tired and have a toddler as well, so I’d like to try and improve the nights.

If I don’t feed her she will scream for (a tiny amount of) milk, which feels really upsetting for me. What would you do to try and break the habit? What worked for your babies? I would ideally like to do it without either waking my toddler or dealing with too many long, screamy wake ups! (Wouldn’t we all…)

Thanks in advance!

I've had to do a 'reset' on my two a few times. 15-20 mins before their usual time of waking I'd gently disturb their sleep, not enough to wake but enough for them to enter a new sleep cycle. Took about 3 days to stop the habitual waking.

Ooh, thank you, that’s interesting. DD doesn’t have very set wake times. First wake can be anywhere from 9.45-12.30. Generally around 10.30 but it’s hard to predict. How would that work?
