what do you do when they are standing holding the bars? we're not really doing cc, but i am softening my attitude towards it as i realise that it's not as awful as i originally thought. anyway, at the moment dd2 is not a terrible sleeper but she does seem to wake for no particular reason int eh night, standing up moaning a bit. She's not really that upset, so we don't pick her up, jsut resettle her in the cot, which she's quite happy with.

BUT one of us has to remove her fists from round the bars, lie her down and pat her etc to help her go back to sleep, otherwise she just stands up again. If we wait and see what happens, (spying through door crack ) she gets really sleepy but then cluncks her head on the cot as seh tries to lie back down, then fully wakes up and is REALLY upset...

if youve done cc with a baby at this stage (shes 9mo) did you leave them to get down or lie them down yourself?

dd was 11 months, the first night she cried for an hour and a half and fell asleep still standing up holding onto the bars (yes it was as bad as it sounds)
I left her as she was no danger (and by day 3 she slept through and has done ever since (she's now nearly four)

Good luck !
