His sleep is worse every night!

DS is nearly 15 weeks and had been sleeping from 11.30-7.30 fairly reliably. Then he started to go backwards - to 6 hours, then 5 and then last night 3! I don't know why this is happening. Is this normal? Will it get better again?

Normal - yes

Will it get better - probably yes

Will it all change again in a few weeks - yes

Are my answers helpful - probably not

Am I speaking from experience - yes

Carry on feeding him when he wants to and roll with it. DS slept from 10-7 at 14 weeks, however from about 20 weeks he woke once every night for about 7 weeks. Then went back to sleeping through again.

Do I know why he stopped sleeping through? - no.

Do I know why he then started to sleep through again? - no!

He's stopped napping too. He's gone from three decent naps - two of an hour and one of two hours to just dropping off for the odd 20 mins here and there and only if he is sleeping on me. The second I put him down he wakes up. He cries most of the day because he is so tired but nothing I do can make him sleep.

Keep trying to put him down for naps, even when you think you've got to the end of your tether with him.

Maybe he's going through a developmental change and/or he's got teeth on the way. That can disrupt sleep patterns.

Stefka · 01/02/2008 20:35

Could he have teeth already? Yikes!

Normally during the day I can feed him to sleep but even that won't work. Poor boy looks so tired (and so do I!)

Teeth or growth spurt!

Hi Stefka - hope you and your boy are ok!!

Hi Stefka, hope you see this.

Firstly, see Moxie for info on sleep regressions.

Secondly, did you used to visit the pregnancy club thread on MSE?

Stefka · 03/02/2008 19:33

I don't think so - what is MSE?

Thank you for the link!

Money Saving Expert. There was a girl on there who was due around the same time as you must have had your baby, and i thought she was called Stefka ... I'm evidently as crap at remembering people online as in RL!

Stefka · 05/02/2008 12:54

Oh I have been on there! That could be me then. Lol - I guess my memory is even worse than yours.

His sleep was even worse last night. I am sooooo tired it's unreal.
