My ds who is usually a really good sleeper, and usually goes to bed with a smile and a wave, is screaming his head off in his cot - he's got some books and toys, but he has gone completely ballistic! I've put calgel on his teeth - I just don't know what the matter is...any suggestions? He's 1 1/2 btw.

Well, I let him yell for about five minutes. Then went in, told him he was going to bed, put him in bed, sat on edge of bed for five minutes and then kissed him goodnight and left.... and he went with it. Think he was in total shock that I really wasn't going to play his getting up game anymore. Let's see what tomorrow brings eh?

Thanks tigermoth and everyone for your comprehensive advice. Shenanigans again tonight because he fell asleep at 4pm on our way back from visiting a friend and I couldn't wake him Lets see what tomorrow brings.

I have a daughter who is 26 months old. I am having the same problems. She screams the place down everynight when I put her to bed. I end up getting her out her cot 2 or 3 times and letting her run about. I dont think she is tired. She gets up at 6.30-7 every day and does not sleep until 9-10pm. The only way I know is to ignore the crying until she finally drops off or I still give her bottles of milk (warm) and this works sometimes.
