Desperate to get 9M old to sleep in cot/self soothe

Hi all, my 9M old has always slept pretty well, sleeps through the night in her cot with the occasional wake up at the moment due to regression however the problem are naps. She sleeps brilliantly on someone or in my bed however as soon as I put her in her cot she wakes up and cries, have tried leaving her but she just gets herself in a mess. Have white noise, dark room etc. she holds a muslin blanket when going to sleep but take this off her due to the size, i have ordered a small one for her to have permanently in cot. I would also really want her to start self soothing to sleep but wonder of this is something that will come after regression? Am prepared to do gentle sleep training but not crying it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If she’s sleeping through at night in the cot then I’d be reluctant to turn her bed into a battleground. If the issue is that you want to get stuff done and contact naps are inconvenient then could you not push her to sleep in the pram and then park it up out of the way?

Yes that exactly why I havent done anything yet as worried will cause issues for nighttime! I already let her sleep in pram but am going back to work soon and would like her naps to be more consistent but it seems as tho routines change so much at the moment
