Newborn sleeps in Moses basket during the day but won’t settle at night

My 2 week old newborn sleeps like an angel during the day in her Moses basket and even needs to be woken for feeds. We can just put her down after feeds and she settles instantly. However at night she just won’t settle and starts crying when we put her down no matter what we do. Any suggestions on how to get her to settle better at night? I’m loving the newborn cuddles but getting so tired at night.

Are you using the Moses basket at night? If not, that could be the answer.

Yes, it’s the same Moses basket. We just move it around the house. We also had a next to me crib but she was swimming around in it so not using it at the moment.

My DD was exactly the same. I'm afraid the answer for us was just time. DH and I took turns holding her in the first few weeks. We persisted with trying the next to me every night though and around 3-4 weeks she started settling for the first part of the night. Then gradually she was in there for more and more of the night. I think by around 6 weeks she'd sleep in there the whole night (with wake ups for feeds of course). Keep going, you're doing great and she'll get there in her own time!

(We did try lullabies, white noise, warming the crib with a hot water bottle, etc, but as I say above I think it was just time that helped really.)
