Restless 7mo and baby monitor

I wasn't sure whether to post this under sleep or baby monitor!

Our 7mo has recently (3 weeks ago) moved into her cot in her own room, so we're using our Vtech baby monitor overnight. The problem is that she's a restless sleeper after the first few hours, moving about a lot in her sleep, which is constantly setting the monitor alerts off.

On 'normal' it'll go off 8-10 times/hour. Even on low its about 5 times/hour. I sleep through the alerts as I'm a very heavy sleeper, but it means my wife gets almost no sleep overnight.

Does anyone have any suggestions? My wife is reluctant to even switch the alerts to low in case she misses something important.

Thanks

Can you put a bed in baby’s room and sleep in there until baby is older and you’re less anxious ?

Would a simple sound monitor not do the job? We just use the BT one. I couldn’t be doing with something that set off at every movement, that’s mad.

Turn the alerts off. If baby has a clear safe cot a baby at 7 months is going to roll and wiggle. She will hear crying sounds through the monitor if baby becomes upset at night. But you don't need motions on at 7 months it'll drive her insane going off so many times an hour when a baby is naturally wiggly in their sleep!

If she's a light sleeper then she will hear if lo needs her. I'm a light sleeper now and hear my lo when she wakes in the night over pink noise loudly, without even a baby monitor both camera and the audio one.

As pp said as long as cot is baby safe I would turn alerts off. Its normal for Los to move around like anything in the night - well is for my lo. Should see the positions she gets in 😆 🤣
