Hallooo MrsJohnCusack, you awake? Or anyone else with a, er, lively little ds?

Hey MrsJC,

come and tell me your ds was just like this but he's over it. (And then for the love of god please don't tell me what he's doing now! )

Ds has started screaming whenever he rolls over in his sleep. He scares himself, I think, because he screams the same way he does if he bonks his head while grunniting round on the floor during the day -- and he can't be stopped with a mere shush and a cuddle - it just goes on and on until his fingers find his mouth, or he finds a comfortable position.

He has also stopped letting me rock/sing him to sleep - it's all about thrashing around, rolling back and forth and up and down the bed (all with loud commentary), until he drops off - last night this went on for two hours. Oh, and of course it's in our bed. If he goes in the cot the thrashing brings him up against the rails which starts the screaming off...

Go on, laugh, share...

ok have stuffed him in the cot

yes can't rock/feed/pat him to sleep anymore - bloody annoying.

the good news for you is he did get better (!) once he started crawling

phdlifeneedsanewlife · 16/01/2008 09:59

oh, thank gawd for that! he is commando crawling everywhere - gave the stairgate a good shake and yell earlier - but can only properly crawl 2 steps before he falls over.

oh dS can't crawl properly yet - think that's what's just about to come as he's spent most of the day rocking on his knees and doing press up - but he has been doing the commando stuff for a few weeks and can get quite some speed up on a polished wooden floor (he also goes round and round on his tummy like a crazed breakdancer which I find highly amusing). He is SO much happier now he can do that. So long as I don't leave the room or stop looking at him that is...

OK he appears to have gone to sleep so I think I will risk going to bed - for another night of hell no doubt
