2 Year Old taking ages to go to sleep

Hello,

Our 2 year 2 month old daughter has in the last week or so taken ages to go to sleep. I think it's in line with the sunsetting as she usually falls asleep at 10pm. We're putting her down at between 7.30-8pm. Usual bedtime stuff, story, bath etc we've not changed anything.

She's got blackout blinds but she's getting herself into a terrible cycle of going to sleep at 10pm waking up at 6.30/7am and being cranky all day until nap time.

Could it be a sleep regression?

How long does she nap for and when?

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 13/06/2022 20:26

Probably time to drop the nap

Mine is the same if she has a nap in the day - she's a similar age and has been that way for a while.

I think unfortunately it could mean that she needs to drop her nap. That doesn't mean she might never need one. Perhaps try reducing them so she just has one every so often when you can see signs she needs one. 10pm sounds very late for her to be dropping off.

It was 2pm - 4pm and she would fall asleep at night at 8pm.

Now it's 12/1pm

She's so funny. Because it's 10pm on the dot not a minute earlier or later. We can see her on the ring camera.

Dreading this day haha oh well all good things must come to an end.

She could be overtired - try bedtime half an hour earlier than usual and see before you try dropping the nap completely
