22 month old DD won’t stop chatting and sleep

DD is 22 months old. Has always been a bad sleep but we thought she had cracked it up until the last week. Usual if she was having a bad night it would be multiple wake ups but would go down ok. Now we can’t seem to get her to go to sleep!! She chats and babbles away for 1.5-2 hours!! When she does go down she mostly stays all night but how do we get her to settle and sleep! She still has one nap in the morning mostly but even if she misses it the same is happening.

Not much advice but just to say we’re going through the same over here 🙋🏻‍♀️! Our 20 month old son lies in bed at night repeating every single word he knows over and over again…’tree, leaf, car, bus, train, tractor, dog, cat…’

It’s like he’s powering down for the night 😂. If he wakes up during the night, it’s the same for minimum 1 hour, 3 at worst so far…

I think it’s developmental and so (hopefully!) temporary. His language is exploding at the moment! Is your LO going through a language developmental leap?

Least we aren’t alone! It does sound the same it’s like she is practicing words she knows. Her speech has come on a lot recently.I don’t know if it is a leap or not. Just wish she didn’t have to practice at bedtime 🙈 she’s grouchy in the morning because it takes her so long to drop off she’s missing some sleep!

I would just leave her to it, she will go to sleep when she's ready.
