My 7 month old only ever cries at night?

My baby boy is nearly 8 months old, and he never cries in the day for anything, I could leave him playing with toys whilst I tidy up, doesn't cry when he wakes up from his nap in his cot, doesn't cry for a bottle or for anything, but at night he is a different baby. He has been like this since about 4 months old and we definitely went through the "sleep regression" but I'm just wondering why we don't hear a peep out of him during the day but at night he can cry hourly ? Tonight he went to bed at 8, it's now 23:20 and he's woke up screaming at least 6 times already, bottle offered but doesn't want, he's got a dummy but just spits it back out to cry, this has gone on for months, we've seen doctor, osteopath, health visitor... nobody knows

He's not cold, he's nappy is dry, he's fed, white noise on, dark room, I have no clue what's going on, at 6.5 months it got abit better and now it's pretty bad again

Any ideas ?
