DS has been awake for two hours, very unsettled and can't get him to go back to sleep...what's going on?

I can't remember when we woke up exactly, but he's been wakeful all night. He started wimpering and rolling around in the bed, so I picked him up, but he wiggled like he wanted to be put down (he's 9 months, and a big boy, so it's not easy to hold him when he doesn't want to be held), but when I put him down he starts crying.

We co-sleep so I've tried the boob (nearly continuously for almost an hour), changed his nappy, gave him nurofen, and now he's with my mom who says he's "trying to show us who's boss".

He hasn't been feeling well for about a week, and may be teething (again), but is there anything else this could be? He's obviously exhausted, and maybe congested, so we put Vicks on his chest and back just now.

He has six teeth already, when can we expect the next to start coming in? Any other ideas? Growth spurt perhaps? [grasps for straws]

Help!

Have been up since 4.20. My DS is 13mths and generally wakes up between 5-6.30 but this morning he has just taken the proverbial. Grrrr...

Could your DS maybe have been too hot in your bed? There is nothing worse than being all hot and stuffy when you are congested.

Hope you are both back in bed now.
