Dd2 already woken 3 times since bedtime at 7

Desperate for help with Dd's sleep. She turned 2 in Dec. Night sleep is awful. She went to sleep at 7 and has already woken 3 times. She has a white noise machine which helps her to fall asleep again quickly but if tonight is like every other night, she'll be awake every hour now. She normally ends up in our bed with DH and I sleep in the spare room. It's exhausting and everyone is tired all the time. Please help.

No advice as I’m struggling with the same so can only offer solidarity! I’m hoping everyone who tells me “it’s just a phase” turn out to be right some time soon…

What time does she nap and for how long?

Struggling with our two year old too… have done since being 6 months pregnant with her. She’s a different breed of sleeper tn her brothers and it’s so hard. Wish I had a magic answer!

What's her day time routine like? Is she tired enough at 7pm to go to bed? My two year old naps from 12pm to 2pm and goes to bed at 8.30pm most nights. Only times he wakes frequently (apart from when poorly) is when he goes to bed earlier and / or sleeps longer for the afternoon nap meaning he's not tired enough for bed.

There's so many other possibilities though so all depends on the particular child / their routine etc.

Today she napped 12-1ish - probably slightly longer but not more than 90 mins. Her naps are irratic. She goes to my FIL once a week for childcare and he'll have her asleep at 9am for 2 hours someday. With me and our childminder she naps for around 60-90 mins around midday. She wakes up between 6-7 and goes to sleep at 7pm, usually with no bother.

Shes normally totally wiped out by the time she goes to bed.

She's very very tactile and gets her comfort from skin contact. She holds hands to fall asleep and whenever she's tired she wants to hold hands. When I sleep with her she wants to tuck her hands up/down my top or into my armpits.

It's so tricky isn't it! I've been hoping the phase ends ASAP but we're all so wiped out

Bump - any advice?! She woke a few more times before ending up in our bed again last night.

Sadly no advice, just solidarity. My 20 month old is a total nightmare some nights and I just can’t seem to get it right with him. Every time we think something works he reverts back to being a nightmare. Im honestly at a loss of what to do with him.

I wonder if she’s too tired? Is the first wake up after 30/40 min? The 9am nap with FIL will def mean she’s shattered by 7! Sometimes when overtired they wake more. I wonder if you can lengthen the midday nap or push it back a little to have a shorter gap between bedtime? Or bring bedtime half an hour earlier?
