15 month old struggling with lunchtime nap

My DD is 15 months old. She sleeps well at night and I've dropped her to 1 nap per day (but if we are out in the car or pram she will fall asleep in the morning).

If she falls asleep in the morning she refuses an afternoon nap, leaving her overtired for bed.
We give her lunch at 12pm and put her down for a nap at 1pm. It can take anywhere from 30-1hr for her to settle even when she hasn't had a morning nap. She will stand up in the cot, throw her dummies out....the cry because she hasn't got a dummy!!! Have I dropped to 1 nap too soon? Is there anything I can do to help her fall asleep after lunch sooner?

Can you give her a short morning nap, and then try her for a nap as well in the afternoon. She does seems young to drop the second nap and she might be overtired without the morning nap.

This might not work for you, but I used to try and be out and about for the afternoon nap as then it was more likely to happen!
