My ds is 2 1/2 and has not always been a good sleeper but recently he has stared waking in the night and opening his door and standing there waiting or shouting - he has a stair gate. So we go and put him in bed and do not talk to him - this goes on every 10- 20 mins for a good 3 hours. We can not leave him to cry because he would wake 1 year old up. It seems that this only happens when he is exhausted at bedtime.
