my dd is 3.9yr old and has always been a good sleeper, but in the last month it seems to be taking her a long time to get to sleep. she doesnt have daytime naps and hasnt for a long time, she wakes up anywhere between 7am and 8.30am. i am a shift worker so to an extent she has to fit in around me.

i take her up to bed at 7pm, toilet, brush teeth then story and i leave her then with bed time cd. some nights she will be asleep by 8pm, other times its 9pm and last night she was still awake when i left for work at 8.40pm. we had had some shouting and tantrums before i went. dh later rang me at work to say that she hadnt gone to sleep till 10.55. i am at my wits end. i dont think it has anything to do with me working nights because i have been since she was a baby. nothing else has changed in her life.
as you can imagine she is constantly sleep deprived and consequently her behaviour at times is unbearable. please help!!!!!

Maybe stay in the room until she nods off so she knows you are there.
