1 Month old sleeping 8 hours at night

Hi everyone,

I'm a first time mum with a 1 month old and have my little one sleep in a next to me at night.
She usually wakes every 4 hours for a feed but last night she slept for 8hrs!

I know the hv can advise no longer than 5hrs but she was happy to sleep through and was okay when she had her next bottle at 6am.

Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? As I am worried about letting her sleep through at such a young age!

Let her sleep through. Unless you have concerns about her weight. Enjoy the sleep where you can get it.

As pp said. As long as there are no weight issues. As long as lo is giving you good nappies, enjoy it.

As far as I know, if they are back to birth weight you don't need to wake them to feed Smile

The only babies i knew to do this were fed formula. bf babies tend to wake a lot more and need more regular feeding. Maybe I'm wrong but assuming you are formula feeding in which case I'd say normal enough. Ff babies gain weight faster too. My babies were all bf so didnt sleep like this until around 18 months....

Agree, my baby sleeps for 8 hours every now and then (usually 6 at a time) but I don't imagine it will be a regular thing so enjoy it when it happens 😊 if your baby was hungry they'd let you know! Mine is 12 weeks now and the first time he did this he was 5 weeks old x

My son did this i used to wake up in alarm thinking something had happened to him. He was just lazy, still is at 40 Grin
