14 month old wakes multiple times a night

Hello
My 14 month old daughter is rocked to sleep by me or my husband after her milk and sleeps fine for the first hour or so once she's in her cot. After an hour she wakes up, we go upstairs and give her a Muslin (this is her comfort) we sit on the chair in her room until she falls asleep and we remove the Muslin. We are back and forth every hour doing this until we give in and she's in our bed. I wouldn't want to leave her with the Muslin and even if I did I really don't think it would make a difference to how much she wakes up. She needs us to be able to fall back asleep, she sleeps through the night when in our bed. She is naturally a very clingy baby. Any advice on how to improve this situation? I don't think I could leave her to cry.
TIA

I think your problem is how she initially goes to sleep, she’s being rocked to sleep then placed in her cot, waking up after a sleep cycle confused about where she is. You need to eliminate rocking to sleep and try and teach her to self settle.

My DD has a dummy and a bib (her comforter) I don’t remove it, she’s had it since 9 months and I removed it until she was 1 now I leave it in (she’s 20 months) and it definitely helps when she wakes in the night.

@Vicky1989x
Thanks for your reply.
I will try and put her into her cot awake with her Muslin. I know she will keep getting up and standing up though , so do I just persevere and keep laying her back down?

@AlviesMam Yes, this is what I do. It may involve some crying if you’re okay with that. I don’t physically lay her down though, I tap the mattress and tell her to lay down. It may take some time but if you’re consistent, it’ll be worth it.
