Hi All!! My 9 week old has suddenly slept for 5 hours solid for the last 2 nights. Is it likley a growth spurt or is this how it starts with the longer sleeps? He has 3-4 ounces every 3 hours but the last 2 nights hes slept more. I dont sleep train or wake him for feeds or interfere at this point I let him lead me...so is this how the good stuff (sleep) starts?? xx

As they get older some babies will naturally start to extend the length of time they sleep for. Usually they will do their biggest chunk of sleep at the beginning of the night. From recollection our baby started shifting to a 5 hour stint around 9 weeks ish, and still does 5-6 hours at the beginning of each night at 16 weeks. Hoping it will get a bit longer again soon! It's to do with their stomachs capacity to stay full long enough so they don't wake, so as they get bigger in theory they can sleep longer undisturbed. Hope it continues for you!

Mcgee123 - Sadly last night it was every 3 hours again, he did have wind though so its swings and roundabouts x
