Help please? Baby waking up to 10 times a night

My son is currently 7 and half months old, from 3-5 months he slept sooo well from 7-7 with no feed. He then hit the 5 month sleep regression and it all went out the window, he will wake now at least 4/5 times a night but sometimes up to 10, most the time he wants to come in my bed, wants a cuddle or some milk for comfort.
He has been on and off with co sleeping I ha always tried to keep him in his cot or next to me crib as much as possible.
He naps in his cot perfectly and doesn't wake up until ready.
We have always had a strict routine at night
7pm me and my partner both take him to our bed room (where his cot is) one of us will change him whilst the other preps the bottle ect... then we feed him, rock him to sleep and lay him in his cot within 1 hour he's awake twice, every night we are in bed by 8pm because we both can't be bothered to keep running up and down as we take it turns to settle him.
Am I doing something wrong? Is the nighttime too rushed should I introduce a bed time story and sensory lights (or would this over stimulate him)

I will try anything, I'm due back to work in January and need to sleep Confused

  • Maybe he's not tired if he's been napping lots in the day.
  • He might benefit from being in his own room - sometimes they wake up and then go back to sleep & if they're in their own room you would be none the wiser.
  • Maybe he's hungry - try topping up at 10/11pm with some formula.
  • Try letting him self settle rather than rocking him (it sounds exhausting having to do that as well)

Check out the Beyond Sleep Training Facebook group and website.

Oops, posted too soon. You'll get people recommending sleep training. It wasn't for me but I found the Beyond Sleep Training project to be hugely helpful and inspiring. Too tired to go into details but check it out.

Thank you, he naps at 10am for 1 hour and then 3ish for 1-5 hours. I did try the 2/3/4 method over the last couple of days but no difference.

Thank you for your reply I think this weekend I'm going to move him into his own bed room. It's scary but I think it's time now.
