Will my 7 month old ever sleep?!

Title says it all really, never got out the 4 month sleep regression and his sleep is just getting worse!
A bit of background info, Ds has 3 naps a day first 2 of just over an hour and the last one a 30-40min catnap totalling 3 hours sleep a day on average and awake windows of 2-2 and a half hours. He usually wakes/stirs after 30-45 mins but a quick wiggle or reinsert of his dummy and he will go back to sleep fairly quickly. His nighttime sleep however is not as predictable. Some nights he sleeps for 3-4hours before the hourly wakings start but lately it’s been 2-3. When he wakes in the morning he looks utterly exhausted and is so miserable throughout the day, it’s like he is constantly overtired but I don’t know how to break the cycle! Any suggestions?

7 months is usually the age they learn to replace their own dummy. From that age onwards I made a point of always handing it to him at bedtime, not putting it in his mouth for him, and I also throw about 10 in the cot every night including the glow in the dark ones to make sure if he stirs he can easily find one. Absolute game changer for us and we no longer need to go in to resettle and he does 11-12 hours in his cot overnight, every night!

Thank you, I hadn’t thought of handing him his dummy rather than just putting it in his mouth, I will try that!
