Hi mums, please help!
Is it ok for my baby to sleep on his front if he can roll onto his front but cant roll onto his back from that position?
Hes 7 months old but i am just exhausted from continuously putting back onto his back in the night.
Many thanks 😊

My HV always told me once the can roll - in the night leave them they will call for you if needed x

Hi OP! Yes, it’s fine to leave him - once they have the upper body strength to roll onto their bellies, you can leave them, regardless of whether they can roll back (he’ll soon let you know if he wants turning). You’ll probably find he sleeps better on his front - my DD is 7-months and always rolls onto her belly to sleep. So leave him be and you can hopefully enjoy a bit more rest! Grin

My four month old is the same - I cannot keep her on her back! I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve woken to find her on her tummy. She can’t get from her tummy back onto her back yet (she isn’t even showing any interest in trying) but she does seem happy on her front and turns her head to the side etc. Should I leave her be?

canyoutoleratethis · 10/10/2021 10:08

@maloney123 yes, I would leave her be, for the same reasons as above

Fancyties · 10/10/2021 12:47

As pp. Leave lo sleep how they want. Should see the positions my LO gets into. I jist leave her to it

Thanks so much that’s so reassuring! Like OP I’ve been up every half an hour through the night moving her!
