My daughter is 11 months old and sleep has been very up and down since the 4 month sleep regression, however we’re now doing very well, sleeping through 12 hours with 2 good naps in the cot during the day, brilliant couldn’t ask for anymore.
Now the problem is, to get her to sleep I’ve pretty much always had to hold her to sleep and then transfer her, this has worked well so no need to change anything however in the past few weeks for some unknown reason she absolutely insists that I hold her standing up, doesn’t need me to walk/sway so it’s not about movement, just wants me on my feet, the second I sit down she’s screaming and squirming away, if I try and put her in her cot awake she’s hysterical no amount of shushing or patting helps (in fact it just infuriates her more that I’m standing right there and not picking her up).
She’s not a small baby she’s 10kg and although I’m managing it fairly okish (although my back is getting sore), my poor mother who helps with childcare is rallying struggling getting her to sleep. I feel like my options are sit down and have her scream herself to sleep or put her in her cot and scream herself to sleep.
Anyone else have such an unreasonable child?! (J/k)
