Hi there. Until last week my 3 yr old slept in a cotbed with a huge grobag and he never had problems with sweating. A week ago more or less we moved him to a bed and it took him a while to get used to it and sleep all night.
The problem is now that, he is soacked with sweat every night. When I go to bed , I go to check and his top, hair, pjs and bed clothes are very damp. I even have to change his top.
He sleeps now with a 4.5 tog duvet and only the pjs top. AND it is not hot in his room!!!
You girls helped me last week. Can you help me know?

Is it possible it's coincided with a bit of a cold?

potxola · 29/11/2007 12:01

Thanks gingerninja, He doesn't have a cold right now but he looks tired because he is not sleeping well.

Instead of using the duvet try layering blankets. That way in can go to bed with less covering him he'll keep cooler also if he gets cold you can easily add blanket until you get the right layers.

Thank you nannynz. I will try that.

not sure of an answer as my ds 2.6 has sweated bad in bed for as long as i can remember he always has soaking wet hair and just has thin blanket over him

some nights i have to change his pj's

apparently his dad was the same at that age maybe they will grow out of it

potxola · 02/12/2007 10:46

they went to stay somewhere when he was about 5 and lady was disgusted as he had wet the bed except was sweat but would not beklieve that it was

at least they are never cold i suppose lol if i find reson or answer i'll let you know

my dd has always been like this...she sleeps with nothing on, under a duvet, window open...middle of winter, radiator off...still sweating...

I used to worry but now just make sure her daytime intake of water is sufficient

Thank you spudcounter, I have accepted it now and I have stopped worrying about it.
