Afternoon,

I think this post is more me full of hope BUT…

I read a post a short while ago that claims giving your child a banana before bed can help with their sleep?

My 14 month old has always been a little devil since she’s been born with sleep, but I just wondered if this an actual thing or total nonsense?

I imagine it would only help if the reason your child wasn't sleeping was because they were hungry.

They've got a lot of sugar so I can't see why they would be sending children to sleep.

Give it a try and let us know.

Bananas are high in potassium which can help sleep.

My child not sleeping is definitely not due to being hungry - she LOVES her food the little greedy guts đŸ™ˆ

I also happen to think the same about the bananas being high in sugar so therefore can’t actually see how that would help sleep? It was worth an ask because stranger things has definitely happened I’m sure!

When DD, now 7, was little the obsession was giving porridge before bed to make them sleep. I never gave DD any as she hated it! I think it's more about making sure they are not hungry rather than the specific food given.

A nutritionist PhD I worked with in elite sport told me bananas or pasta for a good night’s sleep.

It's hit and miss. My LO has had a banana and slept the whole night through it his had a banana and still not slept. It's worth a try.

Kiwi is supposed to be good too before bed as its rich in serotonin but again my LO has had them before bed and it's hit and miss again.
