Morning all!

Sooooo my almost 5 month old, goes to bed at 630pm - not choice. How she likes it. Will cry for her bed. She crys when she goes to sleep - approx 4 mins sometimes less sometimes more (not much more) . It used to be settle in her bed with comfort as faith destiny has described before. She now gets more worked up and distressed with this. So once I literally was busting for the toilet and by time I got back she was asleep. So now I sit in our room with her until she goes sleep - if i hold her she will literally buck herself and wiggle until put down. So left me little choice tbh.... She has a dummy.

Anyways. She sleeps 630pm until 1.15am.i literally mean to the minute she will wake at this time. Doesn't cry out or anything. Just plays with her sleep suit and talk, anyways I feed her - takes a good amount (150mls to 210mls) and I pop her down awake after a quick cuddle as gets bit sicky due to reflux...

Now for anywhere up to hour and half sometimes 2 hours she will shout/Talk and want her dummy back. I have tried holding her for over an hour but will not drop to sleep (though is quite) and is actually better in her travel cot. We use one of these as the side cot she grew out of.

She feeds generally OK, has 700 to 850mls a day. based on her weight 8.5kg is not enough. But that's what she wants and doesn't want anymore, and she's gaining weight. Took a long time to go with flow on that.

Her naps-
830/9 - 30mins to 45 mins
11/1130 - 45mins to 2hours
230/3 - 45 mins to 1hour if she doesn't have her long sleep at 1130 ish she will have a bit longer on this one.
Sometimes has a cat nap about 5ish...
Don't get me wrong I know her sleep is very good at night. Just thrown me with the middle of night one, staying awake 🤷🏼‍♀️used to have feed and go back to sleep within 30 mins...

Simply put is this developmental the waking in night?

She’s not storing them in the fridge. She’s filling bottles with boiling water and then leaving them out, adding the milk powder to room temp water later as they are needed.

@Bobbiblue

OK great thank you fatedestiny. Must admit we break the rules on bottle making.... We premake bottles (water only) and do it room temp, Its the only way she will drink it 🤷🏼‍♀️ we are aware of the risks.... But my kid prefers it.
I’ve no idea how a baby can tell the difference between formula made fresh and cooled, refrigerated and heated and your way, but I expressed DD’s milk which she preferred warmer than body temperature, so know they can be weird. 🤷🏻‍♀️

She was clear 🤷🏼‍♀️ she said have to boil water each feed and make fresh. Even in hospital (in fir 8 days) they went through it like a zillion times. They say if your going out, you have to take a flask of hot water and do it that way each time it's to do with the bacteria and infection.

Yep that's how I'm doing it.

She's a very strong willed baby and how she wants it is how she wants it 🤷🏼‍♀️I do try every so often and retry it but doesn't work and literally will play with teat for over an hour 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes. So you don’t chance an infection with your child. No idea how a small baby can tell the difference 🤣

🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ No idea 😂

So thought I pop an update, as I always wondered what the outcome was when I read these threads.
She had a feed at 01am took 160mls, weirdly went back to sleep in 5 mins 😳
Wake at 610am took like 100mls initially. Offered her again hour later took another 80mls. Had a nap about 8am (45mins)
Woke at 845am took 60mls initially, offered 40 mins later took another 40mls - May have taken more but she's never fed to sleep and she wanted to go sleep 🙄 think I missed the feed/sleep window.
Back to sleep about 10am ish and woke after 45 mins.
Waited a bit offered feed about 1130am in two lots took 110mls.
Went to sleep about 1pm woke after 45mins, but was crying so wanted some help to next cycle, went off for another 45/1hour.
Woke at 3pm. Took about 90mls. We faffed a bit, gave a bath I know early but she was very hot and thought it calm her down as very grizzly today. Offered more feed (made a fresh as was 415pm and thought it be nice) - took 100mls 😲
Sleep at 5pm, slept till 6pm ish.
Feed at 615pm. Took 150mls in two stages

TOTAL - 890mls if I calculated correct 😂 which is way over her usual amount. May just be a fluke day 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Sleep was better too. Bit late for cat nap short one at 5pm 🤷🏼‍♀️ but trying to work on 1.5 in morn. 1.5 at lunch time ish and then 45 mins at 430/5

Went to bed at 7pm.... Which I prefer to be honest.

I can't face the 10pm one yet. I see how next few days go

Fatedestiny - I'm assuming once she gets used to more feedings in day she will reduce the night feeding? I know that some people feed till baby is 1 and over....
