my very nearl one year old doesn't like his cot... never has!!! is he too little to go into a toddler bed???

he's always hated his cot since being a teeny baby. as soon as you go to lay him down he arches his back and lets you know he not happy!!!

so i suggested giving him ds1's toddler bed.. dp says he needs a cot because he fidgits(sp?) so much. (it's ok for dp, but i'm the one having to put him to bed every night!!)

your opinions and experiences please.

Do you think he'd be any happier in it?? You could end up with a baby who doesn't like the bed and can get out of it.

DS1 went into a cot at 13.5 months, when his brother came along. yes its true they can escape- tbh he could from the cot anyway. But as long as you haev stairgates etc there's no real problem as far as suitability goes ime.

soupdragon, that made me lol!

my thinking is that i could lay next to him, rather than looming over him and trying to reach over the sides! soothe him off that way, it's what we do during the day on the sofa!

Mine never had a cot. They both went from basket/our bed to futon/our bed.
