11 month old sleeping less than ever, waking more than ever - tell me this will end!

I am reaching the end of the line with my 11 month old DS sleeping habits. He´s never been a good sleeper but the is past month has been worse than ever.

He has cut out his afternoon nap all together and spends a good part of the day crawling and cruising around which I thought would mean he´d be more tired. How wrong can one be?!

Now we have a situation where he either cries when he´s placed in his cot or if not he wakes up after an hour or so despite seemingly being fast asleep. I keep asking myself what wakes him up...?

Its then a battle to get him back to sleep only for him to wake up again 3-4 times throughout the night.

I can only get him to go back to sleep by putting him on my boob which I suspect he´s using for comfort, I don´t think he´s hungry at all.

Just looking for some moral support as I don´t know how much more I can take. He´s so cranky and clingy during the day too which I suspect is down to general lack of sleep

It is hard!! 11 months is quite early to cut out afternoon naps though. Because of this, he may be overtired and therefore having more trouble getting over into a deep sleep. I would really try to get him back into the habbit of having a nap after lunch, if you can!! I know it's not easy....but it may help.
