Is it normal to need the toilet everytime after breast feeding in the night?

Hi, I'm not sure this is normal but I need the toilet after I have breast fed mt DD in the night!
Sometimes it's just a dribble!
It's doing my head in as I co-sleep half the night.
Does anyone else have this problem and what should I do. Pelvic floor excersise!

I hope so as I did!
Thought I'd stop going 5 times a night once I'd had the baby, but no.
Also, the minute I started breastfeeding, I was desparately thirsty! Maybe that was the cause of all the toliet visits!

Hmmm my DD is 7 & a half and it's still going on!

Oh, I remember those days. Creeping past the nursery door to go to the loo after I had fed ds.

I used to drink like a fish when bf'ing, so I put it down to that.

OMG you could be talking about me too!
Worst thing is that getting up disturbs DS as co sleeping, but once I have the thought in my mind I need the loo - that is it, I just can't get back to sleep!

combination of huge bfing thirst and no time to wee during the day, perhaps?

TheYoungVisiter · 15/11/2007 22:03

I have this - I think it's partly psychosomatic - watching DS chugging away makes me think of liquid, etc etc...

and partly the effect of getting out of a nice warm bed and hanging around the freezing cold landing, a bit like coming out of the pub on a cold night and instantly needing the loo!

I did after formula feeding DS - think it's because you are awake and seeing your baby drink so much - that if you weren't awake, you would just store all the wee. up for the next morning
