7 month old and night wakings

My dd is around 7.5 months old. She's now in her own cot at night and has been for two weeks. She has napped in there since she was 5 months and is familiar with the space.

The last week our baby - who would sleep through the night - is now waking every hour. She was teething but not anymore. She has spent the last two nights in my bed, which she has never done, just so I can function. She came in my bed at 10pm last night after multiple attempts to settle her and she will just scream if put in her cot. Even if she's absolutely sound asleep as soon as she is put in cot she wakes and cries again. This does not happen in the day. She naps well and self settles.

On Tuesday night she slept through the night in her cot, so I know it is possible! She rolled herself onto her stomach and stayed in that position. She rolls confidently both ways.

It's really important she goes from awake to asleep in the cot. You mention her waking when put into the cot, at this age it's never going to work long term to put her in there already asleep.

Rather than Cosleeping, I'd temporarily being the cot back to your room. Just until sleeping through consistantly. Otherwise you may well end up cosleeping long term without planning to - a much harder problem to solve.
