Can anyone tell me what my dream might mean...?

I woke at 3am having had the most terrible dream EVER.

My younger brother and sister -who I am incredibly close to- both died. That's all I can really remember aside from a surreal bit where I went hunting for brother's cigarettes afterwards ?????

Managed to settle back off to sleep at 5.30 something but am feeling beyond tired and very emotional today.

Do dreams of this kind 'mean' anything?
Does anyone have one of those interpretation books they could look this up in for me?

Random one I know- and yes I have namechanged as would hate for my brother or sister to know about what I dreamt. (Not that they would as neither of them MN but am feeling too wobbly, paranoid and tearful today to care )

My mum has lots of these type of books - interpretting Dreams, Tarot, Reading Intestines I think she's got too. Anyway I don't believe in the 'truth' of dreams, they are just your brains' way of sorting things out (and it's better to dream your reaction to a death than go through it in RL) so don't try to decipher it. They are disturbing, that's all.

Thanks; wasn't expecting responses so quickly.

Cannot believe how much it's affected me today.

Brother & sister must be wondering why they both got completely random 'hello how are you' texts from me at 4am.

Sister called me this morning and I just burst into tears and said I hadn't slep well

I've had dreams like that too - I dreamt once that my nephew died and it was awful - so real. I usually dream when I'm overtired or have something I need to do. Have you anything on your mind that could have triggered it?

BadDream · 06/11/2007 11:52

I am overtired yes.

Have sadly lost quite a few people in my life over the years which makes me very over protective with people I care about, and obsessively worried something bad will happen to them

Never had a dream like this though. And yes it was SO real and very frightening.
