Toddler wont sleep in travel cot

So we have a 4 night break at Butlins planned but my 16 month old has decided she doesnt like the travel cot and wont stay asleep in it but she also doesnt like sleeping in my bed... I have no idea what to do? I dont want 4 sleepless nights for both of us.

It does has a seperate bedroom with a single bed but im worried she would fall out even with a bed guard as she is so young and never been in a bed alone. I also couldnt make a bed on the floor as she would just get up and walk around.

Any advice welcome.

Ds just went into a single bed with a duvet in the floor either side or cushions from the sofa when travelling

When are you going to Butlins? Take her normal cot down, put her travel cot in her room and get her used to it before you go away.

But, tbh, if you're taking a toddler to sleep somewhere new, you need to be prepared for awful nights. Unfamiliar places and babies and sleep are a bad mix, it's just par for the course.

When we were at Butlins with our travel cot refusing toddler we took the spare single mattress and put it down on the floor beside us. If that hasn't worked I've put him in our bed and my husband has slept elsewhere , with the bed pushed up against the wall of course.

Is she old enough for a ready bed? You can get ones with Peppa and stuff which she might like. I've not tried as both of mine wierdly really liked travel costs but some of my friends said they were good.

I had this problem with my daughter. We had her sleep in it for a few days before we went away so as she could get used to it, it took a bit of perseverance but she will now sleep in there no problem. I also found that padding out the mattress underneath a sheet helped, the mattresses on travel cots aren't the comfiest.

Im gonna buy another mattress for the travel cot incase it is that.
If not then maybe ill buy a high bed guard and try take it in the car for the single bed
