23month old sleep has gone down the toilet. Help!

So my toddler went a whole 19 months without sleeping through and then BAM, she figured it out. She began sleeping through 4 or 5 out of 7 nights and I got my sanity back.

All of a sudden, following the first snotty nose of the season, she is now up at least once in the night, often twice. Needing lots of comfort and cuddling back to sleep. However, if she wakes passed 2:30am, she will just treat it as being up for the day, throwing the whole day out of whack. She will end up napping stupidly early, then running ragged for the rest of the day and collapsing in an emotional mess usually a bit too early (6:30pmish). And then it starts again! I have a feeling that she is way way overtired but we just don't have the opportunity to allow her to catch up, nor will she let herself.

Her sleep was pretty predictable and stable and now it's totally all over the place. Anyone share any wisdom? Or just a bit of solidarity?

Thanks!

No wisdom to share I’m afraid as I’m suffering with early wake ups with my 20 month old but I’m showing solidarity Flowers

Solidarity here too, currently been awake with my 20 month old for two hours. Whilst her dad is happily snoring away in the other room Hmm

All sleep is a phase. Mine started sleeping through at 18 months then returned to 1-2 night wake ups for 8 months before starting to sleep through again. There's an 18 month sleep regression and another at 2 years. I think you've just got to ride it out tbh.

I read this as your 23 month old having gone to sleep down the toilet. Which doesn't help you

Me too! Initial reaction was, 'Why are you posting on Mumsnet when your toddler is down the toilet??'

In our defence, it's very early.
