I have been worried that my baby has been startling, exhibiting a moro reflex where the arms and legs jerk. This happens only in sleep and not when baby is awake. He used to have these jerks when awake when he was a newborn but that has disappeared. I have told my HV about this and she said she would be worried if it happened when he was awake but since it is only when he is sleeping she isn’t worried. I am anxious since on every website out there it says persistence of the moro is linked to CP. When I told my HV this she looked at me as though I was daft.
Is there anyone whose babies startle in their sleep who is older than 6 months?
