8 week old thumb sucking instead of sleeping

So my little girl has always been a great sleeper overnight - got her into a good pattern of change, feed, settle back to sleep.
Last night she was really hard to settle after the first night feed, then over tired in the morning pretty much when she woke up.
She's recently started thumb sucking and I've been told this is good as it helps her to self settle. However I heard her stir this morning, went in and she looks asleep, sucking her thumb but on and off. Leave her, go back cv k to sleep, wake an hour later and check, same thing. Finally get her up next time as she looks like she's not asleep, even though eyes closed and feed her. At this point it's around 8 hrs since last feed.
I'm worried t h at she's started doing this instead of crying to get me to come in and feed her so she can get a good night's rest. Should I be concerned and get her up to feed first time she stirs? What would you suggest?

I would say that if a baby is hungry, they sure as hell will let you know about it. And if you don't respond they'll just cry louder and louder. If she seems settled I'd leave her x
