How often is your 12wk old waking in the night?

Ruth is still waking 2 or 3 times between 10pm and 6am, I am so exhausted....
Goes down about 7.30pm and had been going until 12am/1am before waking for a feed and then every 3 hours after that. She just can't seem to go longer than 3 hrs after the initial stretch and is always awake at 6am - ugh! Last night woke at 10pm and then every 3 hrs after that. I don't think she is really that hungry as a couple of times she just has 2oz and then falls back to sleep so i think she has developed the wrong association that milk sends her to sleep at night, which i know is worng. what should I do? Continue feeding and it will eventually sort itself out? Or should I try and resettle without milk? Thing is, offering milk and shes asleep within half an hour, try and resettle and we get the full on cry....

Is it too much to ask for one wakening at this age. My first dd sleep from 7pm-7am at 12 weeks so maybe I was spoilt but I can't help but think I am doing something wrong.

I have a 12 wk old and couple weeks ago started to try and stretch him from the 1am feed, anything to make him go off again without a feed - the dummy is a lifesaver, rocking the crib, we even got a slumber bear which I think does work! I was even ready to give him cooled water. Then once he went to 2am I pushed it to 3 and so on, then last week he went to 4.30am. Then last night when he woke up it was 6am!! So once hes done that a few nights, I wont feed again in the night or you're back to square 1!

Thanks for your replies? What sort of naps does your LO have, what times. How long are they awake for between naps?

Lisa, are you sure she's not just cold ? It may sound silly but my 12w old had been sleeping through for about 2 weeks when she started waking up up to 3 times a night sometimes. I thought it was just a growht spurt and it wouldn't last long, but it was becoming a habit. Until I gave her her 7am feed in my warm bed and she slept again for 2 and a half hours, which she would never do. She was just cold in bed. I covered her with 2 extra blankets and she's sleeping through again. She's 15w old.

My LO is 13 weeks, slept til 7 this morning, tho woke two or 3 times in night, I just gave him his dummy and he went off again. During day he naps quite a lot, sort of dozes on and off but likes to do that in his chair during morning, he cries to tell me he's tired so its dummy and blanket and off he goes - and I put him down in basket in afternoon only for an hour or so. Then after 5 I try and keep him awake more.
