2 year old awake for hours every night

Hi all I am desperately seeking some advice/ answers/ reassurance on this. My daughter is 2 and for over a year she wakes nightly ( Atleast 3 times a week sometimes every night) for hours at a time, usually around midnight and finally falling asleep around 3/4am. During this time she is mainly quiet, just sat up in the corner of her cot, sometimes chatting, messing around with her dummy / comforter. She rarely cries out or wants me she just simply seems wide awake and happy. However the next day then she is exausted.

I have tried no naps, naps, early bed time, late bedtime, her current routine is no nap in the day ( she dropped herself - she some days does if we are out ) bed asleep by 6.30/7- she self settles. As mentioned above she wakes around midnight until 3/4 and then will sleep until 7.30/8.

I have asked numerous health visitors and no one seems to have heard of this before! I can't be the only one?! Please help! It's not my lack of sleep that's the problem it's my daughters I am worried about the most x

Will she sleep in the pram? Do you have a double? Or baby in sling/carrier and toddler in buggy. Walk to the park and let her play and hope for a nap in the buggy on the way home?
I feel for you. Broken sleep is awful for all involved.

So today we had a 30 minute nap at 12.30... asleep 7.30... lets see what this evening brings x

Hanging out of the bottom of the double buggy 😂

So I thought I'd update you all! I've pushed bedtime to closer to 7 pm ( even when there is no nap) and started to wake her no later than 7am regardless of what goes on at night and so far the epic wake ups have definitely improved, we have no shifted to a 4.30 wake up lol but she does go back usually by 5.5/30 until 7. I'm guessing this is overtired due to to naps .. but im going to take that over the previous!! Thank you for your advice all!! Let see how long this lasts 😂 x

@mumofmeadow
Hello!
I came across this thread and it appears I'm going through pretty much the exact same thing. My dayghter wakes 3-4 hours every night, been a whole year now. She was 2, last month.
I guess I'm just wondering..... did your little one grow out of it?? And if so, did you do anything to help or did it just happen naturally?
Im feeling so desperate and depressed about it all and would love to know there's light at the end of the tunnel!

Hi @mumofmeadow I'm new on here so I hope this posts o.k. Just wanted to say I'm exactly the same with my 18 month old. She has a lovely routine at night, books, bottle and snuggles off straight to sleep around 7 but you can bet she'll be bouncing around by 1 in the morning asking to go downstairs, pointing to her toys, getting her books off her shelf etc. There is not a chance of getting her to settle back to sleep for at least 3 to 4 hours then she'll sleep for a couple more hours. It's horrendous and exhausting. Please tell me this is a phase xxx
