Next size grobag or duvet/blanket - which for 15 mth old?

My dd has always slept in grobags but is almost too big for her 12-18mth one, as its a summer one anyway I have been looking for a winter one in next size, but I was told in one shop that at this age she shouldnt be in a sleeping bag as she will be too hot?

I had considered getting a duvet or using blankets but she is a good sleeper usually 12 hours a night and dont want this to suddenly change because she is waking up cold!! But I dont want to put her in a sleeping bag if she should now be getting used to sleeping in 'normal' bedding which she can get in and out of if hot or cold?

Please help dont know what to do for the best!

how old is she?
I am leaving my 20mo in one over the winter, although atm he is still fitting the 6-18mo ones.
I moved my ds1 to a duvet at around 20mo, but that was just coming into summer, not going out of it.
Once my ds1 moved to a duvet he spent the next 3 years sleeping outside of it - which he still does most nights.

We used sleeping bags until 3yrs. Was sorry when we had to change to Duvets as boys always kicking them off or general ending up with them rolled in a bundle at bottom of bed.

ds2 has been happy in a grow bag for the past week, he is 17 months and is in the 18 to 3 year one.

DD is 15 mths and she does love her grobag, from what you have said it looks like lots of little ones stay in them way beyond 15 mths and probably sleep better for it because they stay warm!

Might be best to get next size grobag for the winter and consider a duvet once it starts getting warmer again? (then if she kicks it off which i'm sure she will she wont be cold!)

my 17mo is still in his sleeping bags - think they're brilliant. don't think there's an issue with over heating, so long as you use the correct tog.

i've found slumbersac bags cheaper than 'real' grobags and they seem just as good.

gro-bag without a doubt mine were in them until going to the loo at night - 2.5-3 ish they are so much easier, slows them down climbing out of their cots too and getting to their nappy

Why are they meant to be dangerous? Dd roams about her cot like a wildebeest, and would freeze with blankets.

Have just invested in a whole load of 18-3 year ones. Hope they are not going to be dangerous...
