Low sleep needs baby and toddler support thread

My 19 month old has always been an awful sleeper.

After three months of my 19month old sleeping like a newborn in lockdown, I have finally had a healthcare professional suggest that "maybe he doesn't need much sleep". So I have come across the idea of low sleep needs babies and it does seem to make some sense.

Can we have a thread for other people with low sleep needs babies? This isn't so much a thread for sharing tips (we know they don't work) more more ranting about the awfulness of it and the stupid things people with children who sleep say??

I'll share some resources later.

@PopcornAndWine @PrincessBuggerPants I didn't have the energy to wallop her; I could only yawn.

How is everyone doing? My little darling is now only napping once per day and is waking several times at night 😴 dropping to one nap doesn't seemed to have affected her nighttime sleep one way or the other!

The more I think about it, the more the idea there is some magical formula of just the 'right' amount of daytime sleep (not too much and not too little) in order to get good night sleep seems like total bollocks.

Hello! Anyone still there reading these? Just wanted to say Hi and that it's great to have found my clan!! Was in the bedroom with my 1 yr old from 7.15pm tonight... asleep at 9.40pm. At least I've proved I'm not missing his "sleep window" or whatever they call it. Gonna try getting up earlier and not letting him nap after 3.30pm this week, but doubt it will make much difference to hos late bedtime! Tried dropping down to 1 nap but he's not ready for that. Just led to really annoying false starts xx
