11 month old waking ALOT during the night

Please help! We are exhausted with my LO waking during the night.

After he stopped feeding during the night he started sleeping not bad. Dream feed at 10.30am and that was him until 6.30am.

We stopped the dream feed a few month back as he now eats loads!

Now he goes down for naps and at night fine (most of the time) without having to be cuddled to sleep but he either wakes up around 3am ready to party or screaming and we cannot get him to go back to sleep unless we cuddle him and if we try and put him back in the cot he goes off!

This has been going on for about 4 months and i just put it down to teething as his teeth have taken ages to come through properly and he now has 8..but surely it cant be that every night.

We even tried giving him a dream feed again incase it was hunger but it didnt make a difference.

I thought about controlled crying but i wasnt sure as he goes to sleep initially fine and to let him cry during the night for a few minutes when my neighbours are sleeping.

Any help appreciated.

We didnt have this with my little girl so not quite sure what to do.

What happens to get baby from fully awake to asleep at bedtime and naptime? When and for how long are daytime naps?

Also, what is the timeline for these changes. You mention this has been happening for 4 months - so since 7 months old, is that right? Before that was sleeping 10.30-6.30 - for how long had that been happening? When did you drop the dreamfeed and what effect did it have initially?

Thanks for your reply.

For his naps and bedtime i just take him to his room and sing him a song and put him in this cot. Sometimes he will cry and ill give him a wee cuddle and put him back in awake. I normally put him down for a nap 3 hours after he woke up and he naps for about 1 hour twice a day.

Yeah since he has been 7 months he hasnt slept through. He went from 10.30-6.30 for about a month so 6 months-7months. We dropped the dream feed because the hv told us he was getting too much. I think the change of sleep dis coincide with us dropping the dream feed but we tried it again to rule it out and he was just the same...wakening early hours wanting to party or screaming.

I think he is getting to sleep too late as he isnt often down before 8.30 its just by the time we get home from work have dinner and bath and bed.
