OK then, what age did your LOs go from 3 naps to 2?

DS is 7 months and still has a third nap most days, as he has a habit (at least at the moment) of only taking 40 mins or so in the morning. He will usually do 90 mins at lunch but all in all it's not enough to get him through to bedtime. He struggles to go more than two hours between naps, although will quite happily last 3/4 hours before bedtime.

Just wondering if I ought to try to drop the last nap properly... would mean stretching out between morning and lunchtime nap quite a bit, and possible meltdown before bedtime, but I hold out a vague hope that it might help consolidate his night-time sleep .

So what age did your LOs drop their third nap? Seven months seems a bit old to me to be having that nap, but then he is a late developer when it comes to sleep...
