I couldn't sleep last night until gone 5, and DS woke at 6.45 today, but despite being beyond tired I cannot settle in bed now. I am just so agitated and axious and totally awake but yet so so tired... does anyone know of anything that will help (run out of sleeping tablets)

What about reading a book? Nothing too exciting ofcourse... but I suffer from insomnia and find that reading late on usually helps me drift off.

NO book to read, except the new Harry Potter but haven't read the one before and I have a splitting headache.

Warm milky drink? With a dash of alcohol?

Works for me

I find lying in bed telling myself that I really must get up to defrost the freezer/ balance my cheque book/ clean out the guinea pig hutch suddenly makes me sleepy

Then hot milk, warm clothes, dimmed lighting and something boring on TV It's a nightmare not being able to sleep. Feel for you.

valerian tea, like drinking piss but really helps

LadyOfWaffle · 21/09/2007 00:18

valerian tea? I am so grrrrrrr & arggghhh I can't even think about having the bath to settle me down etc. Last time I was like this I was awake about 60 hours and it was about the worst experience of my life, total torture. Dunno what's wrong with me because I nearly swiped everything off the dining table and I am never like that.
