Hi, i need some advice if possible. My 5 month old went through the dreaded sleep regression and ever since its been hell, he used to sleep well through the night and would nap either on me or in his pram but the last few weeks he wont nap anywhere but on me, i have tried various settling methods and nothing seems to work, everyday i start fresh and think this is the day he will nap in his cot but he doesnt and im getting so frustrated its really affecting my mental health as i feel i dont get a break as i have to have him napping on me all the time. At night he goes down ok but from about midnight he constantly puts his hands to his mouth and rubs his eyes and slams his legs down constantly which then wakes him up. Most nights i have to hold his legs and sometimes his hands so he can get some sleep.

Im just finding this so hard during the day im so tired i dont feel i give him 100% and because hes not napping properly hes really cranky during the day.

Would he maybe sleep on you for 10 mins/until looks deeply sleeping then be okay being transferred to the floor? I know it sounds wrong but maybe worth a try.

F as my 6mo is the same
He is 9kg already so rocking to sleep and carrying every nap is getting very tiring.

My 7 month old is the same and he's getting heavier. My arms go to sleep sometimes!
Also he does the exact same thing with the eye rubbing and leg slamming :o

My 7 month old was exactly like this. The napping and the nighttime slamming her legs!
What worked for us was at 6 month we moved her into her own room. This really helped my mental health. I felt like I actually had some time to myself again! I don’t know if she still slams her legs but if she does I don’t hear it. Does your DS cry if the slamming wakes him up?
As for naps I really got to the end of my tether with her napping on me! Some days I really loved the cuddles but others I was just thinking about how much I needed to do about the house. I did one day controlled crying which I hated so realised this wasn’t for me. The next day I put her down when she was sleepy but awake in her cot with a sleeping bag and white noise on and she slept! I now do the same thing every nap - blind down, sleeping bag on, white noise on, kiss and then down.
I’ve been where you are and I really thought she would never nap by herself and it really did get me down but one day it will work.
