What happens if I don’t sleep train?

I’m reluctant to sleep train, but also exhausted.

Baby is 10 months old, breastfeeding to sleep. I settle him on the breast and put back into cot if I’m still awake, but if it later than that, I just bring him to my bed.

He then snacks throughout the night and I don’t get much sleep.

Tonight we’ll try DH going and rocking to sleep, but I suspect baby will cry and I’ll cave in...

If we continue like this, what will happen? Will baby magically start sleeping through the night eventually? When? Sad

@7Penguins I didn't sleep train.
DD now 20 months and pretty much starting sleeping through from 19 months. Before that it was 1/2 wake ups unless it was teething time and then it all went to pot.

I'm still breastfeeding and we cuddle for bedtime. I think it's made her quite a good sleeper - feeding to sleep. She's relaxed and happy.

You will get there- they all do.

ThanksThanks

Thank you, Bronnie
Mine used to wake up only 1-2 times but a cold threw a spanner in the works and the forced co- sleeping made it much worse.

Hoping for the best now...

For what it's worth I haven't done any sleep training and my DD slept through for the first time at 19 months and she had been breastfed to sleep that night. She is gradually increasing how frequently she sleeps through and I've every hope it will become more consistent. I stopped feeding at night after it stopped making her fall asleep for some reason.

My very limited experience leads me to think it's largely developmental.
