11 months- only settles if I put her down on her front

Help!!!! It’s been months of no sleep. I discovered last night that the only way I can settle my 11 month old is to put her on her front- she snuggles up and goes straight to sleep!!!! It’s been months of crying and up and down hourly... last night when she went down on her front there was none of that- doses straight off 10-2. Then did it again at 2 and she slept until my son accidentally woke her at 6.

All the advice says not to do this though to reduce the risk of cot death. Does anyone put theirs down on their front?! Help!!!!

(Please no judgment- this is my last attempt at posting on mumsnet due to unhelpful judgmental comments)

That only applies to babies who can’t roll over , which I assume she can do so it’s fine!

Risk of for death is low at 11 months. You being exhausted has plenty of negative effects. Personally I would not hesitate to put her on her front.

As above, that advice is for newborn babies and small ones. Your 11 month old will be fine on her front

Both mine were like this, much younger than 11 months. I’ve been putting my 10 month old down like this for ages now. She’s an awful sleeper and would have NO chance if I laid her on her back!
I’ve always done plenty of checking & they were in the room with me for longer than 6 months

I am quite risk averse around sleeping but this wouldn't bother me at all. The risk is pretty low in any event once babies are 6m+ and, so long as they can roll, they'll be fine on their front. I'm always pleasantly surprised at how good DS is at avoiding suffocating himself. Crack on and get yourself some sleep!

As soon as mine could roll he’d be put down on his back and roll onto his front. The risk reduces as soon as they can roll - at 11 months they’d be fine

Thank you so much guys. I was starting to feel guilty- like my sleep is more important than her life and what am I doing?! But I suppose that’s how a sleep deprived paranoid mind works at 2am!!!! She’s definitely a happier bunny this morning too!

Started putting mine on her front at 6 months after the risk of cot death became very small and I had seen her roll. Was a game changer for sleep!
