DS is bottle fed since end of week3 cos i had major problems with BF. he fed well during the 1stweek of bottle but noe only feeds 60-90ml during the day at each feed; he does EXACTLY 3 hours intevals so at nigts we heeds either at midnight then 3 then 6am or 1am then 4am then 7am
either way he starts making really loud noises from 5am and usually gets a top up feed to keep him going
is this normal? i'm trying to get him tofeed during the day at 7am, 10.30am then 2, then 5pm, 6.15 (i split the feeds into two halves, b4 and after bath); then he goes to sleep at 7pm but is awake at 9.30 so i can't really do the 10.30/11pm feed
ant advice?

Finally read all these posts.... Number 1 at 4.5 weeks I couldn't even get at he pc ..in my life normally and defo work I like order so having a baby kinda through my organisation into the wind...

I was on Infacol as recommended by my HV initially but my DD spat most of it out so no relief! then we tried Colif (However my DD was always served room temperature milk so having to warm she didn't like and the whole make it pup 4hrs before feed works if you have a routine which we didn't) the best thing we tried was Denitox you can add it to the milk (when going out I add it to the coiled boiled water and then add the powder when out and about other babies in my antenatal group love infacol my dd also hates calpol so maybe she is a savory person

However i do think a baby can set their own routine I personally can't handle the they do this at this time and this time aka Gina Ford...

My DD at 10wks slept through she was and is still feeding 3hrly and less she generally feeds about 8am then 11am then 1:30pm (seems lunch she needs more)......She is now 16 weeks on Sat and until last week was sleeping through from 7:30pm - 8pm - till 8:30am - 9am... we started co-sleeping (all three of us slept better DD & DH & I) and then following Dr Harvey Karps "Happiest Baby on the block" we did the 5S's and she was sleeping through I believe that she is now teething which is why we have battles of bedtime

She has been down tonight since about 9pm and when she was waking due to what I believe to be teething it was withing 20mins so fingers crossed.

Sorry one last thing enjoy your babies they grow so fast

thank you for all your comments; DS is now 8 weeks and slept from midnight until 4.30am then fed and settled back to sleep by 5am; woke up again at 8am..... delirously happy I am! I have a total spring on my step!!!!!

we tried infacol but did not help at all; now using gripe water and colief and things are going much better so i'm going to stick with it; DS also sleeping in grobag and with one end of the crib raised. not sure if the last 2 are important but i'm not changing anything at all!!!!

i guess with new babies is all amatter of patience but it's hard when one is used to a very organized and efficient life, isn't it?
