When did your child stop joining your bed (by own choice?)

My son is 2. Every night without fail he joins our bed. This could be 11pm or 3am but he is always there in the morning. I do not mind this and so I'm not worried about training him not to join. I'm just curious at what age did your child decide they no longer wanted to do this? (if you also - like me - decided to just let it happen).

6.5 😱😱😱 for eldest
Youngest still in age 3 😱 we could have a while to wait yet 😴😴😴

Our 5 year goes through phases. she joins us regularly again at the moment

Mine coslept until 2 then started off the night sleeping in his own bed but like yours would end up in mine at some point, he was 3 when he stopped waking in the night and spending the whole night in his own bed. He's now 11 and still asks to sleep in with me once a week or so which is fine by me as I'm a lone parent.

@BusyMummy16 6.5!! I have a feeling we are heading down the same path hahaha. Our bed is a bit cramped so I'm wondering if he will just decide he prefers his own space in his own bed lol. We have number 2 on the way so will be interesting to see what happens when there's a baby making noise in the room!

@Hermie12 I'm guessing when he stops he will still be coming in some random nights!!

@WeeNippy that's so sweet! Although I bet he doesn't admit that to his mates haha!

Dc1 was 3, dc2 was closer to 4. If dc2 hadn't stopped by 4 I would have actively started helping her stay in her own bed as even though we have a super king bed it was getting too cramped!

Dc1 never came in with us, she likes her own space and always has. She sometimes joins us for a cuddle in the morning. Dc2 still regularly comes in at 5.5 - especially if dh is away. I get in the habit of tidying the pillows etc ready for him before I fall asleep 😂 I don't think he'll be stopping anytime soon and I don't mind 😊
