So tired but not sure what to do...

So I've been trying to get my DS off to sleep for over an hour. But the only way I can is by placing a muslin cloth over his head. This work perfectly through the day to get him off to sleep but I don't normally do it at night as I'm not awake to check he's okay. He's only 4months oldtoo. I just basically was wondering if anyone had any suggestions he likes it just over his eyes but as he tosses and turns it moves down. I've tried to take it off once he's dead asleep but he wakes five mins later screaming. 😭m

My partner thinks he'll be fine and I'm not sure if I'm over reacting....

My DS would only settle with a crochet granny blanket over his head from early on - I was a bit panicky but I figured it is basically a load of holes so should be breathable!

Could you maybe try something like that?

No, I wouldn't leave a 4m old with a muzzie in the cot either, and definitely not over their face.

Is there light shining onto him from somewhere? Try moving the cot/basket to a darker corner of the room?

No I definitely would not leave him like that, I wouldn't even do it for day time naps. Agree with making the room darker

Rather than muslin use a thin cellular blanket with large holes. They are designed to be safer re suffocation etc
